The consequences of the dissolution of Czechoslovakia for the Treaty were agreed on at an Extraordinary Conference held on 5 February 1993, which conference accepted the Czech Republic and Slovakia as the legal successors to Czechoslovakia by the Document of 5 February 1993.


On 22 November 2011 the Czech Republic made a statement in the Joint Consultative Group on the cessation of certain obligations pursuant to the CFE Treaty vis-à-vis the Russian Federation.
